U.S. Green Card
The U.S. Green Card is a permanent residency visa that gives the holder of the Green Card almost the same rights as a citizen.

The Green Card the holder the following rights:
- Enter and leave the United States at any time without the risk of being denied by an immigration officer
- Be protected by all laws of the United States, your state of residence and local jurisdictions
- Stay permanently in the United States
- Work in the United States
- Create or own a business in the United States
- Apply for government-sponsored financial aid for education
- Get Social Security benefits when you retire (if you have worked at least 10 years in the U.S. before retiring)
- Can sponsor your spouse and unmarried children under 21 so they can obtain the Green Card themselves
- Be eligible for U.S. Citizenship (see our U.S. citizenship page)
